Who can battle with the Lord?

“Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD. But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt. And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD.” Ezekiel 30:19, 25-26 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/ezk.30.19-26.kjv

Who can battle with the Lord?

Our Lord reigns in the affairs of men. He is the sovereign God who lifts one up and puts down another. He is the master chess player of the universe as can be seen in the Bible reading of today. He was set to show the proud pharaoh and the whole of Egypt that he is the Lord over all. As such he raised Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to destroy Egypt. According to the text, the Lord was going to break the hands of Egypt and exalt that of Babylon so that they can conquer them.  So the results of the battle had been pretty much been fixed ahead of it starting because the Lord was using it for a specific purpose to show to Egypt who is boss. We have been told that God can use stones. He can use insects like the locust and frogs that dealt with Egypt when they did not let Israel go. Even the forces of nature obey him such as in the case of Jonah. That is why a favorite song says no one can battle with the Lord.  How might you battle with the Lord? By constantly living in sin, by being proud, by oppressing the helpless and doing any other thing that sets you on a collision course with the king of kings. Check yourself and retrace your steps today.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a merciful God despite being a consuming fire. Please Lord, help me like only you can. Let me be on the right side of your mercy. Please show me everything in me that is displeasing to you and give me the grace to retrace my way back to you in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
