Who do you run to?

“And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand. Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.” 2 Chronicles 16:7-8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ch.16.7-8.kjv

Who do you run to?

Don’t seek help from those who you should be dominating. Sometimes, because of a misplaced understanding of our worth as children of God, we go seeking help in the wrong corners. This was the case in the Bible reading today as king Asa despite relying on God in his earlier days as king, now thought it better to be cutting deals to fight his battles. He sought help from the Syrians to help fight against the Israelites who had camped against Judah. To make matters worse, he took items from the temple to go make the deal. So God sent a message to him to show him how foolish he had been and to remind him that the ones in which God fought for him were bigger than the current battle.  We must be careful as we come into God’s blessing and build ‘maturity’ that we don’t start to rely on our own strengths. God is still the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He still offers those who are weary and heavy laden kingdom rest. His eyes run through the earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect before him. So I guess the main question is… Is your heart perfect before God? If not, rather than seeking substitutes in the face of challenges why don’t you retrace your steps and redress your heart before God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the mighty one in battle. Thank you for the past and current victories. I trust in you for the future victories. Please help me to live a life of holiness through your word and the Holy Spirit so that I can come boldly before your throne in my times of need 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
