Whom do you give Honour to?
“For the LORD shall judge his people, And repent himself for his servants, When he seeth that their power is gone, And there is none shut up, or left. And he shall say, Where are their gods, Their rock in whom they trusted, Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you, And be your protection. See now that I, even I, am he, And there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: Neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” Deuteronomy 32:36-39 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/deu.32.36-39.kjv

Who do you honour with your time and substance? God asks in the Bible “if I am your father, where is my honour and if I am your master where is my fear?” In today’s Bible reading, Moses sings a song to the Israelites as a warning to them when they get into the promised land. It was a warning because God knew that when they got comfortable, they risked forgetting God and ascribing their success to themselves and to other gods or items. He warned of dire consequences for that and concluded by saying when they have been diminished then God would ask them where are the gods that they honored with the fatness of their sacrifices. Do you love God with your lips and yet everything else points to the fact that you are honoring yourself and / or lesser entities? Be careful. Our God is a jealous God who will not share his glory with anyone. Has he lifted you up? Remain humble and honor him always.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the Almighty God who rules in the affairs of men. You lift one up and put down another. Please help me Lord to remain focused on you as the essence of my life. Let me never get carried away by the gift and forget you the giver. So help me God 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
