keep your Focus on God
“And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.” 2 Kings 2:9-10, 12 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ki.2.9-12.kjv

There are critical transformational moments in life and the journey to destiny that must not be missed. It cannot be replaced, it must be encountered in its totality to get the sort of empowerment that rewrites the story of the individual. In the Bible reading today, Elisha was consistent and persistent in his followership of Elijah, despite distractions. That got him to the point where he was asked to make a request. However, the nature of his request required him to be laser focused so as to experience the exact moment of Elijah’s departure. It is important that we stay focused on God and be sensitive in the spirit so that we can catch the turning point moment. Just making it to the other side of Jordan was not enough. Elisha could have come back empty-handed if he had missed the critical moment. Your perseverance to date is great. It opens the door of access to request great things but those once-in-a lifetime encounters only happen with continued focus to make all the previous work count. Of course, Elisha’s service to Elijah would have gotten him the prophet’s annointing but the double portion type required the extra mile. Are you going the extra mile? Do you feel like you have banked up your kingdom service and would like to permit some ‘rest’? Remember the story of the five foolish virgins. After waiting for so long, they missed out on the target because they were lacking a critical resource - extra oil. Do you have what it takes?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for the opportunity of service that provides access to special giftings. Please give me the grace to stay focused so that I don’t miss out on the divine encounter that will transform me forever in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
