Winning without weapons

“Then Rab–shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria: Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand: Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria? But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.” 2 Kings 18:28-30, 33, 36 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ki.18.28-36.kjv

 Winning without weapons

There are times in the faces of roaring challenges when the best course of action is to hold your peace and not say anything. In the Bible reading today, the king of Assyria wanted to make war with Judah despite the king of Judah previously persuading him. The messengers that he sent chose to use the tactics of fear. Rather than give the messages directly to the representatives from King Hezekiah of Judah, they decided to make it loud enough and used the native Jewish language for all the people on the walls of the city to hear them so that they can be afraid and break ranks.  However, what was instructional was that the people did not say a word. Were they afraid? Of course. But why give the enemies a chance to see your fear and state of mind so that they can play on it more. Instead, their chiefs went back to the King and of course to God with their fears. Are there challenges that you face, sometimes the best action is not to bandy words with the devil or his representatives. Take the matter to the king of kings and the Lord of Lords, when your confidence is restored by the assurance that God gives you on that situation then go forth in that boldness.  Don’t play to the gallery, don’t debate from a position of weakness. Ask the Holy Spirit for utterance.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the confidence that we have that when we pray you answer us always. Please Lord grant me wisdom through the help of the HolySpirit to always know what to say per time so that the glory in every situation of my life would always return to you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
