Absolute surrender to God

“And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation: But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.” 2 Samuel 15:25-26 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2sa.15.25-26.kjv

Absolute surrender to God

Do you live a life of absolute surrender to the will of God? Or do you try so hard to prove yourself or point? When we have grounds against an enemy or oppressor, it is human nature to want to leverage that to prove a point. However, we can take a lesson from David in the Bible reading today. His son Absalom had once again struck. This time he was targeting the throne of his father and had won the heart of the people over through deceit. The King of Isreal had to go into hiding to escape potential death. David the King had access to the ark of God and it would make sense as the sitting king to carry it along with him. But David had a deeper revelation. The place of the ark was not in hiding. It was the ark of the God of Isreal not just of David. The Symbol of his presence with His people. So, David yielded up the ark and asked that the priests return the ark to Jerusalem. He was going to let God have his will even if it did not pay him (David). After all, this was the God that found him from the wilderness where he kept sheep and took him to the palace. He was willing to have God be the judge of the matter to determine if he had found favour in God’s side. One thing to note is that it takes a certain level of inner peace to do that. If you are living in sin though and outside God’s will it would be tough to say that. So, examine your hearts today and ensure that you are indeed at the center of God’s will. If that is the case then no matter how things look, you can rest assured that it would end in praise according to the will of God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, show me your ways and help me to walk in them. Also grant me the grace to live a life of absolute surrender to your will and the discipline to live right at all times even when it is difficult to do so 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
