All things work together for good
“Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.” Genesis 45:5-7 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/gen.45.5-7.kjv
Do you see God’s hand in it? The Bible says that all things work together for good unto them that love God and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).. ALL things - The good, the bad and everything in between. In today’s Bible reading Joseph pointed out to his brothers that it was God that sent his ahead of them into Egypt to preserve life. That’s a unique perspective to have given all the years of suffering that he went through because they sold him into Egypt. He saw the pattern, he saw God in it and so he was able to release his brothers in his heart. So many times God uses some circumstances and individuals to push us out of our comfort zones to give us lessons of trust and total dependence on God. However, even after entering into divine rest eventually some people are unable to enjoy it because they are still soaked in bitterness and Ill-feelings, hanging on to the past. It doesn’t really matter who did it or how it started as long as you keep faith with God, he will lead you to His expected end (Jeremiah 29:11) but we need the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to see God’s pattern and hands in the trying situations. When you see it, then let go of the hurt. Do not repay evil with evil. If anything, be grateful that they helped you find a greater purpose in God. Only then can you truly enjoy your rest.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you because everything is indeed working together for my good because I love and trust you. Please give me the grace to let go of every past anger, disappointment etc and embrace the rest that you offer in your plans for my life 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
