Altar of Sacrifice

”And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.“ Genesis 8:20-21 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.8.20-21.kjv

Altar of Sacrifice

God loves fellowship with his creation. He loves our sacrifices. In the Bible reading today, after several months in the ark while the rest of the earth was being destroyed through flood, Noah came out of the ark with all that were with him and he gave a sacrifice to God. It was an acceptable sacrifice as it pleased God. As a result of this sacrifice, God reversed an initial pronouncement and then sealed it with a promise.  God had cursed the ground for man’s sake when he sent Adam and Eve out of the garden and the Bible recorded that Noah was given that name because his parents saw him as a comfort despite all their toiling in the cursed ground (Gen 5) so the curse was actively in place at the time he was born. However, when God acknowledged the sacrifice after the flood, he said he would no longer curse the ground for man’s sake and also promised not to destroy all of mankind again.  He confirmed it all by saying seed time and harvest will never seize as long as the earth remains. Noah found favor with God initially and was preserved from the flood but when he raised an altar of sacrifice and thanksgiving at the point of a new beginning, he got a bigger blessing. The blessing of ease and reward. Are you raising an altar of sacrifice to God? Is it an acceptable sacrifice? The outcomes of an acceptable offering and sacrifice has far reaching consequences. Choose rightly.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, thank you because you are indeed a God of beginnings. Thank you because you are the Alpha and Omega and you are present in our beginnings before we can even start the journey. Lord I commit every of my beginnings into your hands. Please hold my hand, dine with me and give me a blessing that will last forever in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
