Always remember your source
“And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD. But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.” Ezekiel 16:14-15, 22 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/ezk.16.14-22.kjv

Do you remember where you started from? Reflection of where you are coming from is always important because it helps to remember how you got to where you are. The human mind tends to be myopic and often focused on the present circumstances. This is why the Israelites were warned as they were going into the promised land not to forget that it’s the Lord God that gives power to make wealth so that they don’t start to trust in the own abilities. The Bible tells us that God lifts one and brings another down. In the Bible reading today, Jerusalem was being reminded of how they came from a lowly place helped by God because they seemed to have forgotten and have gone after strange gods and abominable practices. Once we start to forget where we are coming from and how God helped us then we are walking into dangerous zones. You don’t want to be made to remember by force. So, no matter how high God has placed you and the victories conquered for you always remember that we are clay in the potters hand and the master creator can reshape the clay at his instance. Never forget your source.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you because you lift one up and lower another. Thank you for the journey of my life to this point. Lord I acknowledge you as the author and finisher of my faith, the owner of my life. Never depart from me Lord for without you I am nothing. Let your mercy speak for me always 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
