How often do you check your divine connect-meter?…. The Bible says that “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)…. this is so instructional as we have seen branches die off once the connection to the tree is broken. Often we get carried away with gifts and forget to check in with the giver. When God blesses you with exceptional skills or talents and has also wrought deliverances through you, you need to always check the connection, through a refresh and revitalization in his presence… Familiarity with God can be super dangerous… No one has God’s password and just because he has worked in a specific way in a particular circumstance does not mean in a repeat scenario he will do the exact same thing. If in doubt, go ask Moses who struck the rock the second time when the instruction was to speak to the rock. It is important to ask like David “shall I go, shall I pursue and shall I overcome?”. The absence of the inner connection can lead to a public show of shame as we see in today’s reading where Samson got up to go as usual not knowing that the spirit of God had departed.. we know how the story ended. In the very end he acknowledged his frailty and then sought God for strength one last time. Check your divine connect-meter today before you go out to battle as usual…..
