Lessons of intercession from Moses and Aaron. The Bible reading today shows the unique characteristics that Moses and Aaron had of empathy that allowed them stand in the gap for the Israelites even when they were the object of protest and God was going to wipe out the people. In a previous event that instigated the follow-on issues, Korah, Dathan and Abiram had been consumed because they questioned the service of Moses and Aaron believing that they were also consecrated enough to be the voice of God to the people.  At the time, God wanted to wipe out the whole camp because they sided with the rebels. Moses interceded with God and gave a final note of warning for the people to be separated from the rebels and their family. This saved the whole land from being consumed. However they were back the following day with yet another complaint. One note of warning though is that while on the second time around Moses and Aaron still interceded, the plague from God already killed thousand before it was stayed.  So two key lessons here. One is to have the heart of intercession on behalf of the people even when you are the target. Jesus showed an example when on the cross he said forgive them for they don’t know what they do. What a profound lesson. The second lesson is not to join the multitude to evil because while the consequences of the group evil may stop at some point due to intercession, you could end up as an early-bird partaker of the punishment like those who died in the plague. So be careful and audit your associations always.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the Mighty and Majestic God and yet so full of mercy and grace. I come before you today seeking for the heart of an intercessor. Also Lord, please open my eyes to recognize any association of mine that is brewing towards evil so that I can come out and be separate in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
