Avoid physical and spiritual burnout
“Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.” Exodus 18:19, 21, 23 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.18.19-23.KJ
The Bible tells us in Prov 11:14 that “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety”. Counsel is very critical to delivering your kingdom and secular assignments. Some people have suffered physical and even spiritual burn out by trying to juggle so many balls at the same time. Some have become so busy with the work for God that their walk with God which is supposed to be the fuel for the work has suffered significantly. We see in today’s Bible reading that Moses was overwhelmed by the magnitude of the administrative and judging activities he had. He received counsel from his father-in-law on delegation which would help his focus on the core and weightier issues. One thing that is instructional though in the reading was the constant alignment with God’s instruction. The father-in-law said if Moses carried out his advice and God commands him to do so. Hence, as we take counsel, we must always match it with the word of God and with the leading of the HolySpirit. Any counsel outside of the will and instruction of God is certainly a distraction from your destiny appointment. So be wary.
Prayer: Dear Lord, as I disburse your assignment, please send help to me in might and in counsel 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
