Be careful of vain comparison

“And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day. Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.” 1 Samuel 8:18-20 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1sa.8.18-20.kjv

Be careful of vain comparison

Be careful of comparison. The grass always appears to be greener on the other side. Each individual’s or people’s race has been carefully orchestrated by God and so we should not make our judgement based on the path of others. In the Bible reading today, the Isrealites no longer wanted Judges. They wanted to be like the other nations whose kings judge them and lead them into battle. They wanted to see a physical leader ahead of them in battle. They had forgotten that without a physical leader, the Jehovah Nissi had been their banner defeating kings and kingdoms for them. They didn’t mind any oppression that the king might have over them as long as they have a king. Are there things that we are looking at in the lives of others and are craving so badly? You need to take a step back and ask God if that fits in His plans for you. If it does, as long as you are at the center of his will, He will make everything beautiful in His time. However, if it’s not His will for you, then let it go because the Bible says that there is a way that seems right to man but the end thereof is destruction. Let God lead you in your choices.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for today. Thank you for your faithfulness. I surrender to your will O Lord. Lead me unto the expected end, a hope and a future in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
