Be discerning
“And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him. But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?” 1 Chronicles 19:2-3 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ch.19.2-3.kjv

The spirit of discernment is needed always as we make decisions in life. We must also be careful of who we surround ourselves with because we are told that the companion of fools will be destroyed. In the Bible reading today, we see how what was supposed to be a kind gesture from David to the King of Ammon to commiserate after the death of his father was misinterpreted by the king due to wrong counsel. The course of events that followed ultimately led to them losing the battle against Isreal, losing ties with an accomplice (Syria) and finally ending with Ammon being servants of David. We must be careful always to not jump into conclusions quickly but to instead trust God for guidance always so that we don’t turn destiny helpers into enemies.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the all-knowing God that knows the beginning from the end. Please help me always through the Holy Spirit so that I may know what to do per time in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
