Be guided in your choices
“And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed. And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel. Be mindful of history, so that you are guided in your choices. A lot of important history is captured in the book of life, the Bible, which are super relevant to the present day Christian as a guide. The Bible tells us that the things that are written beforehand in the scriptures are for our learning. In today’s Bible reading, Moses gave the Israelites a dose of history when they were about to enter the promised land. The tribe of Reuben and Gad loved the pasture on the current side of Jordan and preferred to get their inheritance on that side of Jordan as opposed to crossing to the other side with the rest of the Israelites. Moses reminded them of how about 40 years prior Israel incurred the wrath of God because they were afraid to go into the promised land. He warned them so that their actions don’t inspire fear in the rest of the camp. They however made a commitment to cross over with the others to take the land before returning to their family and cattle. Looking back at history, helps with calibrating actions. The Bible says that in the volume of the books is written of us. Take heed and choose wisely.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you for your guiding light to our path and the lamp to our feet. Please continue to guide us according to your will and let the Holy Spirit remind us of all that you have thought us in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
