“And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer–sheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it. And Joab answered, The Lord make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my Lord the king, are they not all my Lord's servants? why then doth my Lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?” 1 Chronicles 21:1-3 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ch.21.1-3.kjv

When you have been enjoying a victory run, be careful not to get carried away to the point where you start to ascribe victory to the wrong things and make counter productive decision. Such was the case of King David in the Bible reading today whom Satan looked for the best way to break his victory by creating a separation between him and his Ally, the Most High by putting in his mind to number the armies of Israel. For someone who always went to God to ask and double check for every step, it was really surprising of David. He was even warned by Joab his right hand man but he was so full of himself at this point that he insisted anyways. The Bible tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man and the end thereof is destruction. When you start to ascribe divinely provided resources to your own strength and capabilities then you are towing a dangerous path. Examine those thoughts when they come into your head and send them packing because the result could be disastrous as David found out from the thousands of Israelites that were killed because God was going to show him that He doesn’t work by numbers.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for all that you do always. Thank you for favor, enablement, provision and the many blessings that you load me with. Please Lord help me. Deliver me from myself so that I don’t get carried away and walk out of your victorious and sustaining grace in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
