Break the ties
“and the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more: and the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.” Leviticus 13:5-6 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/lev.13.5-6.kjv

Before you pronounce it clean, are you checking for the signs. The Bible talks about laying aside the sins that easily beset us. The ones that we think that we have overcome and yet the roots remain. The high places that are not pulled down that lure us back into sin. Often, the reason why some believers struggle is because they often operate on the edge believing that they are free when some of the roots of sin are still lurking around. In today’s Bible reading, God was providing details for handling leprosy to Moses. In the excerpted text, when the priest observed the individuals who had symptoms, it was easier to declare that they were unclean than to say that they were clean. The individual needed to be kept for some time with repeat evaluations of any regression or reoccurrence before they are declared clean. In a similar analogy, it is often easier to recognize when you have fallen off the edge than to declare that you are safe from the edge of sin. Watch out for the signs, break the ties that lure you back, connect with the divine physician and continually be evaluated to ensure that you don’t become entangled back quickly into the leprosy of sin.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are mindful of us as your creation. Thank you for the cleansing blood of Jesus that purifies us from the leprosy of sin. Father, I ask for grace through the help of the Holyspirit to recognize and separate from the entanglements that lure me into sin and disobedience in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
