Commit to Process

”And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.“ Genesis 39:1-2, 20-21 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.39.1-21.kjv

Commit to Process

Often, the entry point has no bearing with the final destination. However, two critical things are important to get to the destination - the access and guidance through the journey. As much as we love to celebrate Joseph’s story as prime minister in Egypt, he could not have gotten there without two seemingly unrelated and unpleasant entry points highlighted in the Bible reading today. What are the odds that if Joseph had entered into Egypt as a free Israel that he would have encountered Portiphar, talk more of access to the king’s cup bearers.  Those sort of engagement and access are not typical everyday occurrences. They are probably typically in the circles of royalty. However, he got access in unexpected ways through divine orchestration. He got a chance to be up close to Portiphar because he was bought as a slave and also got close to Pharaoh’s cup bearer because he was in prison at the same time he was there. If he arrived one year late or earlier, he may never have met them. Hence another critical element in God’s divine orchestration to destinations of glory is timing.  If Joseph was not on the slave market the day Portiphar was there, he may have ended somewhere else. On that day that seemed so uneventful or unpleasant, the arrival of the future prime minister of Egypt into the land he was to govern occurred in the most unrelated manner yet guided by the orchestrating arm of the King of Kings who knows the end from the beginning. Your story right now may not look like it but if you are committed to walking the process with the orchestrator of all things living and the master chess player of the entire universe, the destination of glory will beat even your wildest imagination.  Learn to trust and walk with him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the master of the universe, the creator of all things who is yet mindful of the details of my life. Lord, help me to trust you completely. Help me to know when you are leading me. Give me the grace to walk the process with you into my glorious destiny in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
