Dangers of disobedience

“And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds. And I said unto you, I am the Lord your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.” Judges 6:1-2, 10 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/jdg.6.1-2,10.kjv

Dangers of disobedience

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Romans 1:28. After the death of Joshua, the Isrealites were now in a cycle of captivity - crying on to God - deliverance - sin - and then captivity again. For a nation so dear to God’s heart, they refused his instructions and so they kept falling and rising. Like the case of a person who puts his hands into fire and is burnt, suffers the pain for a while and then returns to the same cycle. Sometimes we see these sort of patterns in the lives of people but they fail to leverage the key to stopping such patterns. Obedience to God’s instruction and walking in his path. We often need the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to see these patterns. Why don’t you ask God for mercy today to deliver you from every reprobate mind that makes you to keep doing the things that keep landing you in trouble. And choose to seek God’s word, meditate on it and it is indeed a lamp to the feet to keep you from taking the next wrong step and a light to our path so that we can stay focused on the ultimate goal - a life of eternal bliss with Him.

Prayer: Dear God, in any way I may have been given over to a reprobate mind, please deliver me. Help me Lord to live a life of righteousness in obedience to your words. Terminate every pattern of captivity in my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
