Your initial response and timing of action to God’s instruction is critical. You must be careful not to be taking on an assignment after God has moved on. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure as seen in the Bible reading this morning. The Israelites were about to enter into their promised land but due to the negative reports about the existing inhabitants of the land, they complained and were ready to go back to Egypt despite persuasion from Joshua and Caleb. God had had enough and said that even as they complained about God’s plans to kill them in the wilderness, they would now die in the wilderness while wandering for forty years.  Of course, the bearers of the bad news had died immediately. Well, at this point, rather than plead for mercy, the Israelites now decided that they would go into the land acknowledging that they had sinned. Well, God was no longer in it but they went ahead with the assignment despite warnings from Moses and they were badly smitten. The assignment is only as good as the presence of God in it. Have you missed out on God’s instructions for your life? Repent and plead for mercy. Seek for his presence and go only if he still says so. Then and only then will victory be assured.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your guidance and instructions always. Father please forgive me for any past acts of disobedience fueled by doubt. I receive the grace to trust you completely. Please let your presence go with me and grant me victory in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
