Discerning Prophecies

“Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.” Jeremiah 20:1-2 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.20.1-2.kjv

Discerning Prophecies

Beware of old prophets. The prophets with human positional authority but who have lost their divine connection. Often, they are the ones who try to dampen a message of warning from God to the people saying that it is well when it is not. In the Bible reading today, the chief governor in the temple locked up Jeremiah because of the seeming harsh prophecies of intending doom that he was telling.  Whether it is ratified by the local ‘spiritual authority’ or not, when the authority in heaven and earth says a word then it is done. He specializes in using the foolish things to confound the wise. So how then do we discern the right prophecies? The foundation of the Lord stands firm. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. He does not condone iniquity. So, if the prophecy of warning shows indices that align with God’s posture to sin, then take a moment to verify that you and yours and all targets of the prophecy are in right standing before God.  Learn to connect with the manual of life - the word and the Holy Spirit. God is not an author of confusion.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you consistently speak to your children through many avenues. Please Lord give us the spirit of discernment to know and recognize your voice. Give us the strength to be disciplined and repent when you warn so that we can be saved from any impending punishment in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
