Dishonour has consequences

“And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord? And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face: And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the Lord will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.” Numbers 16:3-5 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/num.16.3-5.kjv

Do not take corporate covering as an indication of individual right standing with God. Sometimes, someone is paying the price on their knees to keep the corporate annointing that you experience. As was the case with Moses when so many times God sought to consume Isreal and Moses would remind God that people would say that he brought them out of Egypt to destroy them in the wilderness. Moses would always plead for mercy, but most times, the people were not privy to that information. Hence, the case of Koran and his friends who raised some people to challenge the authority of Moses in the Bible reading today. After all, God was always coming down into the camp because in their opinion ‘all the congregation was holy’.  Of course, Moses decided to step aside briefly from covering them and told them that God will show who was his or not the following day. We know how that ended, they (Koran, Datham and Abiram) were swallowed alive and then the children of Isreal that were still complaining lost a number of them to a plague. Do not take for granted the covering that you enjoy. Do not entertain pride. Don’t get a sense of entitlement for all that God has been doing. You may be surprised at who is paying the price on their knees for you. Most importantly, strive to be holy so that in instances where the covering may not be there and it’s every man to himself, that indeed God finds you worthy. Because ultimately, it is an individual race after all.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercy always. Thank you for all those that you have blessed me with who continue to intercede on my behalf. Please help me Lord to continually be holy through your Holy Spirit so that victory will continue to be assured with you as my Ally. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
