Distill the Truth
”And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.“ Genesis 3:4-5, 7-8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.3.4-8.kjv

Learn to differentiate facts from the truth. This is critical for the successful execution of your divine instructions. One of the first instructions given to man was in the garden of Eden when God asked Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This instruction was passed on to Eve and then the serpent came to test the instruction. He presented a fact to counter the truth of the instruction that they had received from God as shown in today’s Bible reading. He told the woman that they would not die, contrary to what God had told them. Instead, he presented the fact that they would become intelligent, knowing good and evil like the gods. It was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and so the fact of it was that it would grant knowledge but God’s guidance was that they would die which was the truth of the matter. Upon eating the fruit, the facts manifested but so did the greater consequence truth. Their sense of innocence and purity died as they suddenly realized that they were naked. Their relationship with God and confidence died as they went into hiding. The benefits of a prepared table before them in the form of a garden ended as they were chased out and now had to toil for everything that was easy before. Man as we were before the costly trade-off died. Yes they now knew good from evil and so they had gained self-sufficiency not needing to be tended to by the all-knowing God. Think about how you care for your baby who does not know the right from left. You go all out to protect such but when they come of age, the level of protection reduces. Man traded coverage for knowledge. So, as you receive your divine instructions, trust God for the details of the truth and guard your instructions jealously otherwise a counter fact which may be correct in the instance may throw you off-guard with dare consequences. Stand your guard.
