Dont play God

“And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Genesis 50:15, 18-20 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/gen.50.15,18-20.kjv

Dont play God

Are you playing God? In today’s Bible reading, Joseph’s brothers were worried that after their father’s death Joseph would deal with them. Joseph was so hurt that they would think that. He acknowledged that he is not God and not willing to take the place of God. For some individuals who have gone through challenges or persecution at the hands of others, when God vindicates them and fights their battles, they are still busy looking for ways to make the persecutors pay or to repay the evil act. In local parlance they want to “pepper them”. Watch out because then you may be trying to play God and the most High will not share his glory with anyone. Has he vindicated you, then heap coals of fire on the enemy by being kind to them, showing them what it is to be a child of God indeed. Let God be God, fighting your battles and you just stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for always fighting my battles. Give me the grace and discipline to stand still and see your salvation. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
