Dont settle into a transit land

Dont settle into a transit land

Don’t get carried away in Egypt. In today’s Bible reading, Jacob was about to die but his prayer for Joseph and the rest of Isreal was that God would eventually bring them to the land of their fathers. At the time he was saying this, they were enjoying privileges in Egypt and besides there was famine in the Canaan. However, he was so sure of the promise of God and the destination for Isreal that he trusted God to take them back and make good his promises. Often as individuals we go through certain paths to get to the destination that God has promised. Some of those paths look rosy at some points and there is the temptation to abandon the rest of the journey and settle. However, they are often temporary situations and if you settle early, you may start to blame yourself much later when the temporary perks are now gone. The only way you can be sure that it temporary though is if you have a clear vision of God’s ultimate purpose for your life and so with clarity you know that for example that job is not the destination but a means to the impact goals that God is giving you and so you know when to move on to the next level. Know God’s will for you today and don’t settle in early because God’s plans for you are to give you a hope and a future (Jer 29:11). Halleluyah !!!

Prayer: Dear Lord, please open my eyes to see the glorious future that you have for me and help not to be distracted on the journey to purpose 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
