Eliminate the remnants of a past life of sin
“And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages. And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.” Joshua 16:9-10 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/jos.16.9-10.kjv
Solomon 2:15 refers to the litttle foxes that spoil the vine. The little seemingly insignificant things that turn out to be big deals. The markers of a past life of sin, the friends, the reminders of the ‘thrills’ of sin. Often people who had been victorious in the past find themselves at the mercy of some of those they had previously conquered because they refused to do a complete purging at the point of victory. In the Bible reading today, despite driving out the bulk of the Canaanites in the past victories, a few were left in Gezer and we do know that Ephraim ultimately lost the victories that had been prophesied into their lives because they went after idols. The idols of the people they left to dwell with them. The question today is: What are the remnants of your past life of sin that you are still permitting? Those ‘little’ habits that are not big deals, those associations that are ‘ok’ to maintain etc. Examine yourself today and ask the HolySpirit to help you to discern all the little foxes and remove them all today so that your victory shall be permanent!!!
Prayer: Dear God, please open my eyes to see the areas of carelessness and permitting of little foxes. Help me to let go of them today that my victory in you may be sustained 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
