The Bible records several calls for repentance and salvation. The warnings to retrace steps ahead of the judgement of the Lord. In today’s Bible reading, there is a call to the children of God to come and walk in the light of the Lord and to put away the idols that they have created for themselves. This relates to the many times when the gifts of God or the things that we have created have taken our attention away from the maker. Hence, the call is still applicable today for a stepping out in readiness for the return of the king of glory. The Bible reminds us that at the last trump and in the twinkling of an eye the trumpet would sound. Are you ready? Are you compliant with God’s expectation of the church that he is returning for? The Bible tells even the one that stands to stand firm and take heed so that you don’t fall. Embrace every opportunity for an evaluation of yourself by heaven’s standard so that his return will not catch you unawares.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the assurance of a life of eternity that you have made available to your own. Lord I look to you for help to live right and according to your standards so that I will benefit from life eternal at your appearing in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
