Faith - the ingredient for entering into rest

“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” Hebrews 4:2, 9-10 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/heb.4.2,9-10.kjv

Faith - the ingredient for entering into rest

When a new mechanized or simpler way of performing a task that an individual has done for years is introduced, it’s often met with a level of skepticism... “it won’t work”, “I like the way I have been doing it”.. Often there is a lack of trust in the seeming simplicity of the method. Think of the women of old who used the stone grinder for pepper and would not touch a blender because it just didn’t seem to make sense In the same way, we are being cautioned today that we not be like the people of old who did not benefit from the rest of God because it was not mixed with faith in them. There is a promise of rest in God but so many times we still choose to struggle in our own ways because the proposed ways don’t “make sense”.. He promises rest from our burdens and troubles but we need to act in faith... First to accept his saving grace and to follow his principles and then we see the exponential impact of following his ways....

Prayer: Dear God, I am sorry for not trusting you fully. Please help me to enter into my rest in you in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
