The Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The psalmist expands that in the Bible reading today by saying that the Lord teaches the one who fears him in the way that the individual should go. He goes on to reveal his secrets to them and establish his covenants. So the fear of the Lord is a preservation, an eye opener and a means to thrive consistently.
