Flee from Comparison

“And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” Numbers 12:6-8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/num.12.6-8.kjv

Flee from Comparison

There are categories with God. There are levels of spiritual maturity and the grace of God upon a person’s life. Hence, it is important that we avoid unhealthy comparison at all costs. The Bible says touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm. You don’t know how much of a price has been paid by an individual in dedication and consecration and so you can’t be the judge of whether or not you all are on the same level spiritually. Besides, you don’t know the specific instructions that they have received and where their specific assignments fit in God’s puzzle board.  In today’s Bible reading, Aaron and Miriam made a costly mistake and more so for Miriam. They not only challenged Moses’ actions but made a dangerous comparison about the fact that they all hear from God. The one on whose behalf they had self-nominated themselves as judges showed up to provide a very important distinction. Not only was Moses not on their level, he was not on the level of any prophet that has lived before then. He was judged faithful by God and had uncommon privileges in his relationship with God. Hence God was wondering how they were unafraid to speak against Moses.  The irony of it all was that while Miriam and Aaron collaborated on this discussion, Miriam got the punishment of being leprous. Aaron probably enjoyed the grace of the consecration that he had undergone as a priest and so Miriam was really on her own. The key message here is to tread carefully in your assessment of other kingdom journey partners. You don’t know the level of grace that they enjoy with God. Don’t get on a collision path with God due to loose and careless accusations.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a gracious God. Thank you for your mercy that speaks over judgement. Please Lord, I come before you seeking for the grace to discern and be sensitive so as not to make loose assessments or join in discussions that would be detrimental to me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
