Fleeting Pleasures

“All the while my breath is in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils; My lips shall not speak wickedness, Nor my tongue utter deceit. God forbid that I should justify you: Till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: My heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.” Job 27:3-6 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/job.27.3-6.kjv

Fleeting Pleasures

The Bible asks us in the book of Romans “What shall separate us from the love of Christ?” and then goes on to list ‘valid’ instances before confirming that nothing is able to do that. The Bible reading is an instance of such. This is Job in this midst of his tribulations still being resolute about holding fast to his righteousness and not speaking evil. So many Christians often reevaluate their relationship with God at the slightest challenge. They are ‘friends with benefits’ and so once the benefits appear not to come in an instance they abandon ship. The Bible tells us that the trial of our faith helps us to build virtue and we also have the confidence that all things work together for God.  So before you abandon God and kingdom principles in search of ‘temporary pleasures’, recall that his thoughts towards us his children are for good to give us an expected end so we know that he will always come through for us. If only we can believe.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness, thank you because you are a dependable God always. Please Lord help me to stand firm in you and continue to trust you regardless of my situations; and please Lord come through for me 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
