Forget not his benefits

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.” Psalm 103:1-5 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.103.1-5.kjv

Forget not his benefits

What are you grateful for? Do you truly think of all his benefits? Or are you too focused on the ‘yet to be answered’ prayer point that you miss all the blessing that stare you in the face? In the Bible reading today, the Psalmist reminds his soul not to forget the benefits of God and he starts to itemize some of them. Starting with the ones that we often take for granted but which are the keys to the most sought-after benefits. The forgiveness that God offers that allows us to come boldly before his throne despite it all, the healings, the redemption from the things that would have wrecked us or destroyed us, the crown of love and mercies. He focuses on all these before he recognizes the ‘tangible blessings’. It is often said that it takes a deep thinker to be able to thank. So, why don’t you take a step back today and thank God for his many benefits that you take for granted.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being mindful of me, for the assurance of your presence, for loving me regardless, for ordering and re-ordering my steps back to the center of your will. Thank you for being a dependable and reliable God always 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
