Give him thanks
“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.” 1 Chronicles 29:13-16 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ch.29.13-16.kjv

There is an adage that says “the one who is able to think deep will know how to thank”. Reflection is a critical ingredient for worship as seen in the Bible reading today. King David in his quest to build a house for the Lord had prepared almost everything that was needed for his son to take on the assignment after him. He also called for donations from the people and was so overwhelmed by the giving. What he did next is however instructional. He looked back on their journey and realized where they came from and the journey so far and was appreciative that God had granted them the means from which they were able to willingly give. In the fast paced lane of life, we often get distracted by the next big thing that we don’t reflect to realize how prayer points of donkey years had suddenly arrived with so much ease. We even develop an attitude when we give to God from the abundance that he has enabled us to have in the first place. Take out time today to reflect on your life and worship God from a place of appreciation. You may not have all you want but we are told that if it wasn’t for the Lord that had been on our side as his children, there is no telling what the Devil would have done to us. Be thankful.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank your for your faithfulness and kindness always. Thank you for keeping me and mine. Thank you for the benefits that you daily load us with. If all the hair on my head were tongues it would not be enough to thank you but please Lord receive my worship from a grateful heart 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
