The story is told in the Bible of the prodigal son of a rich man who went into a strange land and squandered all the portion of his father’s inheritance that he had asked for on reckless living. He then degenerated to the level of eating pigs food. And then one day, he reminded himself of the stature of his father and how even his father’s servants could not be living in the level that he was and then he returned home seeking for mercy. It started with a realization. In the Bible reading today, God reminds his children of his capacity and how he crafted the heavens and the earth.  He also reminds us that he is the one that teaches us to profit, the kind that comes without sorrow. In addition, he provides the recipe for peace which is listening to and obeying his commandments. So do you look at your life and situation today and it does bear any semblance to what the child of a God with such great capacity should be? Then you need to take the step like the prodigal son to head back to the father asking for mercy and having the willingness to abide by his terms which basically is following his commandments in holiness and righteousness.  As an added perk, he provides the grace to follow, once you are willing. So, are you willing?

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the holy one of Israel, the mighty and majestic God. Lord, I come before you afresh committing to a life of obedience to your instructions in righteousness and holiness. Please grant me peace that passes all understanding and help to flourish to your glory in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
