God abounds in mercy

“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses: that the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.” Joshua 20:2-3, 5 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jos.20.2-5.kjv

God abounds in mercy

Our God is full of grace and mercy.  In today’s Bible verse, we see such an example of his mercy when he commanded the Israelites to create refuge cities for those who accidentally commit murder to flee into to avoid revenge. However, the beauty of the grace that God offers is that he is the ultimate judge of your intents and so while you may appear innocent to men, he pierces through thoughts and intents to unveil truths. Hence, we must be careful not to continue in sin and expect grace to cover because our merciful God is also a consuming fire.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you because you are the gracious father of light. Thank you for mercy towards us when we were yet sinners. Thank you for calling us into the marvelous light of our Lord Jesus. As I continue in my walk with you, please show me your ways and teach me your truth. Grant me the grace to live above sin in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
