God is not a God of numbers

“And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me……..And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place………..And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.” Judges 7:2, 7, 9 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/jdg.7.2,7,9.kjv

God is not a God of numbers

God does not need a crowd… He works in unique ways. He works intentionally to show forth his glory. Isreal had suffered significantly under the oppression of the Midianites who always came in to take the harvest. Yet God delivered the Midianites into the hands of Isreal using 300 men. That is just sheer incredible. Isreal had strayed and God had left them under the servitude of the Midianite but when God was to deliver them, he just needed a few people as a symbol of his deliverance. People who were willing to take a stand. People who were willing to risk themselves to see what God would do. People who trusted God enough to take on what may have appeared to others as a suicide mission given that the army of the midianites were as a sea of grasshoppers by the sea shore. They dared to go and God backed them up. Men like David who was angry that a human albeit a giant was defying the army of the Living God. The rest, they say, is history… God is still asking like in Isaiah 6:8 …”Whom shall I send, and who will go for us….”… I trust that you will not wait for the validation of numbers before you say “Here am I.. send me Lord”.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the assurance of your presence and your saving power. I receive the boldness to go where you lead in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
