God keeps secrets

“And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer–sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.” Genesis 46:1-4 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/gen.46.1-4.kjv

God keeps secrets

God gives surprises too… As I ponder on the Bible reading today, I am curious that if God confirmed to Jacob specifically at the point where he is now to go to Egypt with his whole family that Joseph will put his hands upon his eyes amongst other promises, then why had he not revealed it to Jacob over the many years that he agonized over Joseph that he was still alive? Well, our God is supreme and his ways are not our ways. Some questions will not be answered on this side of eternity. What comes to mind however is the possibility that God hid it from Jacob while he was working the process to avoid an interruption of God’s divine plans. Imagine if Jacob had known that his son Joseph was alive and in Egypt, he may have tried to get his beloved son at all cost truncating an assignment that was going to save nations including his own home. Just the way you hide the present and balloons of a surprise party from a child before the D-day when the setup is complete, God also surprises us his children. One assurance he gives is that His thoughts towards us are to give us an expected end, a hope and a future. Are you his ally? If so, rest assured that He is working it out for you. In the fullness of time it shall manifest. Halleluyah!!!!

Prayer: Dear God, give me fresh grace to trust you completely and wait on you for my hope and future in you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
