Good Leadership
“For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the LORD. And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz. For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.” 2 Chronicles 28:19, 22-23 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ch.28.19-23.kjv

The role of a leader in the well-being and destiny of a people cannot be overemphasized. So many times in the Bible, we see Israel and Judah blossom when their leaders did the right thing and conversely we also see them suffer as a result of bad leadership . This was the case in the Bible reading today where God’s chosen Judah was at a very low point as a result of the choices of their king Ahaz. He did not do God’s will and stepped it up to go after the gods and practices that they had been expressly forbidden to. To make matters worse, he kept sinking into more and more errors which led to his ruin and all of Israel. In our endeavor including faith, we must be careful about those that we subject ourselves to their leadership and more importantly pray that our leaders don’t fall into the spirit of errors because the people are often the biggest partaker of the problems. An example would be David who carried out a census without God’s instruction. Well, it was the tons of Israelites that died as a punishment and not David. So praying for leaders is at its core a preservation for the led.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you rule in the affairs of men. You have made the heavens your throne and the earth your footstool. Please Lord don’t let me fail you in my days of leadership and Lord please help our leaders to do the right, so that we can be preserved from the result of their errors in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
