Guard your treasures

“Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.” Ecclesiastes 10:1 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/ecc.10.1.kjv

Guard your treasures

The Bible tells us that a little leaven affects the whole lump. Some Christians tolerate ‘a little bit’ of sin from time to time. Afterall, one time should not be a big deal. In the Bible reading today though, we are told that a dead fly contaminates the smell of a beautiful ointment and that a little foolishness contaminates the wisdom of the honorable. The devil our adversary is always on guard to make a mess of the testimony of a Christian. Recall that the sole purpose of man and especially the redeemed of the Lord is to show forth his glory. So, any opportunity the devil has to show the opposite, he latches unto it and expands the matter.  Hence, as carriers of great destinies, we must guard it jealously and seek to live a life of righteousness through the help of the Holy Spirit constantly guiding us so that our testimonies can be preserved. If however it already has a dent in it, our God is a God of grace, run back to him and do not return to a life of sin.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the glorious destiny that you have given to me. Please Lord, give me the grace and discipline to live according to your dictates. Please light my steps and my paths always so that my life will always bring glory to your name in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
