He demands your Consistency
”They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. So when even was come, the Lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.“ Matthew 20:7-9 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.20.7-9.kjv

God rewards consistency. His ways are not our ways. He does as he pleases and no man can question his authority. In the Bible reading today, Jesus tells a parable as an analogy of the kingdom of God. In this parable, the owner of a field went out to hire labourers for his field and he kept going out at different watches until the 11th hour and he was adding them to the field to work for him. When he saw the 11th hour folks, he asked them what they were doing out there and they said because no man hired them. However, they kept showing up because they were still willing to work hoping against hope. They did not return to their home because he would not have gone knocking on their doors. The interesting thing though is that they received the same reward as those who negotiated their fees in the beginning. So while they would have felt that they had lost out earlier when they had no work, because they remained consistent their faith paid off. The Bible tells us that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seeks him. Diligence suggests putting in the effort consistently even when it is not convenient. The other bit is that they did not try to negotiate their fees, they were happy to be hired and trusted the good man to do right. If a penny was a day’s worth of work, they would never have negotiated the full amount seeing that they were desperately looking for work but by grace they received the full day’s worth. God’s ways are not our ways. Keep showing up and trust in him completely. He beats out imaginations consistently.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and love. Thank you for being mindful of us at all times. Please Lord, give me the grace to seek you diligently and to trust you for your reward. Teach me to be patient so that the fullness of your reward would be evident to all in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
