He is our advocate

“In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel 24:13-14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/ezk.24.13-14.kjv

Be careful to embrace the corrections of the Lord because yielding to the corrections could save you from the results of his wrath. The Bible tells us that seeing as they did not retain him in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do the things that are not convenient. The Bible reading today corroborates this as God speaks to the people of Israel through prophet Ezekiel.  He highlighted the fact that he had consistently tried to purge them but they were not responsive to being purged. And so they had reached a brink where God declared that they would no longer be purged and that they would bear the full brunt of his judgement. The reason that we have a high priest in Jesus is that he advocates for us but also shows us by his time on earth that it’s possible to overcome sin.  Do not take the grace of God for granted by wallowing in sin. It is a dangerous cliff.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercies and kindness always. Thank you for your outstretched arms that corrects and reproves usof sin. Please Lord give me a heart of flesh and not of stone to be sensitive to your corrections so that I can be saved from the full brunt of your anger in Jesus name. Please help me like only you can 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
