He sees beyond you
”And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;“ Genesis 4:9-11 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.4.9-11.kjv

When God asks a question, it often precedes a judgement, decree or pronouncement. Hence, we must be intentional and ask for grace for the right response. First off, our God is all-knowing and knows even the innermost secrets. Hence, when he asks a question, it is not from a place of not knowing but to offer the individual a chance to shape their own destiny. Recall that the Bible tells us that with the mouth we confess our salvation. The Bible reading today presents one instance of a question from God to man that was to precede a judgement. It was to Cain who had just killed his brother. God who knew exactly what had happened asked him where his brother was and his flippant and unrepentant answer sealed his destiny for ever. A similar question scenario was with Elijah the prophet who God asked the question twice of what he was doing in the cave in the depressed state that he was in. He was given a double chance but gave the same answer and right there and then his replacement was named. One other instance that comes to mind is when Jesus asked the disciples “Who do the people say that I am?”. The divinely inspired answer from Peter yielded a profound verdict. He was to be a strong rock of support of God’s kingdom on earth with authority to bind and loose. What question is God asking you today, this season or this year? Receive grace for the answer that would yield a positive pronouncement from heaven in Jesus name.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God. Please Lord, grant me afresh the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. Help me to respond appropriately to the questions that you bring my way. Let me grow in the fullness of your grace and wisdom in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
