Hearts and Acts
“All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” Matthew 25:32-34 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.25.32-34.NKJV

The heart and the acts matter. The acts of love done to fellow brethren from a passion about what matters to the father and in obedience to his commandments count for much. The acts that supports the things we say mean a lot to God. This was why Jesus called the Pharisees hyprocrites because they said one thing and did another thing. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus provided insights into the judgement throne of God and how the obedient sheep who follow their shepherd’s leading will be separated from the goats. The evidence of obedience according to the rest of the Bible text is how their acts of love have been demonstrated to seemingly less privileged humans. The judgement will be that all these were done to God himself. So, take a moment to pause and reflect on your actions. Are they in sync with God’s expectations? Do you love your neighbor as yourself? Do you show love to those who may not be in the position to repay your deeds? If not, it is important that you redirect your ways. If God could send his son to die for us unworthy sinners then he is the ultimate example of unconditional love.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your love towards us. Thank you for making a pathway for us out of the clenches of sin that held us bound. Please Lord teach me your love. Teach me to love and grant me the grace to yield to your promptings of love in my day to day activities in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
