Intentionality in Seeking

“O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.” Daniel 9:18-19 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/dan.9.18-19.kjv

Intentionality in Seeking

The Bible tells us to come boldly before the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and grace in times of need. God’s mercies prevail over judgement. Hence, we must be intentional in seeking his mercies. In the Bible reading today, Daniel encountered the previous writings of prophet Jeremiah regarding the captivity that Israel was now in at the time. He therefore went to God in all sense of humility to plead for mercy and ask for forgiveness for God’s name sake. What are you going through at this time as an individual, community, or nation? When all else fails, all we have is mercy. Cry to God today for mercy.

Prayer: Dear merciful God, thank you because you do terrible things in righteousness. Please Lord, I seek your mercy over my life, family, community and nation. Let your mercy intervene and restore us in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
