Oh what a price that Jesus paid for our redemption. Reading through the requirements for the atonement of sins in the Old Testament before Jesus Christ came is very humbling. An example is in the Bible reading today which specified that apart from the sin offering that was sacrificed on the altar for the sins of Isreal, there was also the requirement of a scapegoat that was to bear the sins and iniquities of Isreal and carry into the wilderness. According to the reading, this particular one was to be done annually in addition to all the other sacrifices. But Jesus came and paid it all in advance, he died on the cross of Calvary to bear all of our sins. 1 Pet 2:24 says ““He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.””. We often claim the healing that comes from the process but some people forget the victory over sin and the empowerment to live righteous that this offers. Would you rather have been shedding the blood of animals regularly for your sins? If the thought of it seems a lot then we must ensure that we do not take for granted the price that Jesus paid to enable us come boldly before the throne of Grace. The clause is that you must accept Jesus and make him indeed Lord of your life to enjoy the covering. Is Jesus your savior? And in addition, is he your Lord? Do you follow his instructions completely?

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the saving grace that Jesus obtained for me on the cross of Calvary. Jesus, I acknowledge that you are my savior and also that you are the Lord over my life and affairs. Please let me enjoy the benefits of the covering that your sacrifice affords always 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
