Look unto Him

“Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.” Nehemiah 2:4, 19-20 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/neh.2.4-20.kjv

Look unto Him

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith is the admonition that we have from the Bible. As long as Peter looked at Jesus when he was walking on the waves, he was powered by the wings of grace but as soon as he looked at the storms around him, he started to sink. For every God-given vision, there are adversaries as seen in the Bible reading today. The governors of the neighbors of Jerusalem were not happy that it was remembered in the first place and even proceeded to laugh the idea of the rebuilding of the temple to scorn.  However, Nehemiah’s response to them came from a deep understanding of the owner of the assignment. He was not fazed, but was assured that the God of heaven will prosper the work. Are you on an heavenly assignment but feel like the opposition is great? Look unto Jesus because the Bible tells us that “they looked to him and their faces were not ashamed”.

Prayer: Father, thank you because you are the helper of your children. I look up to you afresh concerning the journey of life, let my face not be ashamed and let the glory be yours always in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
