Love the Lord
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40 KJV

Do you love God? Really really love him? Are you passionate about the things that he cares about? Do you seek to dwell in his presence and to do his will always? According to Jesus in today’s Bible reading, the first and greatest commandment is to love God and the next one is to love your neighbour as yourself. On these two hang all the laws and prophets. No wonder, Paul wrote in the book of 2nd Corinthians, that the love of Christ constrains him. When we are in Christ we are a new creation. Old things are passed away and all things become new. Our thought processes become new. Our world’s view become new. Our prioritization mechanism becomes new. We care about our rewards and standing with the father more than we care what men think. When God sees the readiness, he takes us on a journey of even knowing more. The Bible says that he reveals the things which have been hidden from the foundations of the world to his saints. We then start to thrive because the one who holds the secret of the word and owns the cattle on the thousand hills is our fiend, guide and protector. So, again the question is: Do you love God?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are our father and a faithful God. Thank you for the constant call to us to a life of fellowship and to bask in the glory of your presence. Lord fill me with your love. Help me to know you more and let my life thrive as I walk the path of obedience in the calling that you have over my life in my sphere of influence in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
