Make the right choices
“And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Mark 8:34-37 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mrk.8.34-

Getting your priorities right is very important. Your soul our immediate gratification? The cross today with an assurance of hope and future or temporary bliss with a lifetime of torment? The beauty of the cross is that Jesus tells us that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. This is because he gives grace for the journey. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus asks a very important question. He asks what the benefit is for a person to gain the whole world and lose his soul. While it is almost impossible for one person to gain all the riches in the whole world, the level of priority of safe guarding your souls points to the fact that even all the riches in the world do not compare. As you go about your choices daily, ensure that your priorities are aligned with eternal value. When the trumpet blows and we stand before the judgement throne there will be no chance to do life over again. The die would have been cast. Choose wisely today. Your soul is the most valuable treasure worth guarding.
