Not all things are meant for you
“And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Luke 4:3-4 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.4.3-4.kjv

Just because you can, doesn’t mean that you should. Be careful of unnecessary show off of your physical and spiritual benefits or privileges. The Bible tells us that the meek shall inherit the earth. Meekness is controlled strength especially in the face of lesser opposition. It’s not weakness but a willingness to trust God for vengeance or intervention. In today’s Bible reading, after many days in the wilderness, Jesus was hungry and the devil tempted him saying if he was truly the son of God he should turn stone to bread. He is the son of God and could possibly turn stone to bread especially seeing how hungry he was. However, he had nothing to prove to the devil and so replied saying man shall not live by bread alone. He did not allow the devil to fan the flame of pride in him because he had a bigger assignment that required even a greater level of meekness. Otherwise, how do you describe the savior of the world being scorned and hanging on a cross to save the same people who scorned and rejected him. It takes the ultimate control of strength. As a child of God in life’s market place, how well are you controlling yourself? How well do you yield to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to resist the urge to fight in the face of persecution? When God fights for you, it’s of scales of magnitude higher than anything you can ever do for yourself. Hence, resist the urge to win a battle only to lose the war. One with God is a majority. His ways are not our ways but his plans for us is to give us a hope and a future and deliver our expected end. Trust him completely.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the Almighty God who reigns and rules in the affairs of men. Lord, I submit afresh to your leading. Please help me not to be full of myself but instead to lean on your guidance consistently. Please grant me lasting victory in all aspects of my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
