The keys to eternal life and the associated pleasures of the kingdom even while on earth are so straightforward, yet profound at the same time. It’s the recurrent theme around Obedience. It has been since the foundation of the world and still is today. In the garden of Eden, despite granting access to about everything to Adam, God gave specific instructions and the disobedience of those instructions got Adam and Eve kicked out of the garden of rest and treasures into a life of turmoil.  In so many instances in the Bible, God echoes the command to obey his instructions and in today’s Bible reading Jesus answered the question around the access to eternal life with Obedience as the key. While so simple, the Bible tells us that our flesh is constantly at war with the spirit. The Bible also tells us that our wisdom is like foolishness with God but yet our minds are always trying to rationalize God’s instructions which is where the problems set in.  When the one who sees the very end from the beginning gives an instruction, it may not make sense from your current viewpoint but in due time when we trust and obey we see it all come together. For rest today and assurance of eternal life, understand God’s instructions and comply accordingly.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you for your eternal wisdom and the precepts upon precepts that you reveal to us. Please grant me the grace for complete obedience so that your glory can be revealed in me and through me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
